In preparation of the pending hurricane, we would like to remind you to take the appropriate measures to secure your home and property. Our top priority is the safety of the residents in our community.

Please secure all objects you may have outside your home to avoid injury and minimize property damage.
Objects such as outdoor furniture, gardening items, umbrellas, trampolines, basketball hoops, etc. need to be secured as soon as possible as they can easily be lifted by strong winds.

Preparation Tips:

Create an Emergency Kit: Prepare a well-stocked emergency kit with essential items like non-perishable food, water, flashlights, batteries, a first-aid kit, important documents, and any necessary medications. Make sure your kit is easily accessible.

Secure Your Home: Check your windows, doors, and roof for vulnerabilities. Trim trees and bushes around your property to reduce the risk of debris damage. If you live in a flood-prone area, consider sandbags or other flood protection measures.

Evacuation Plan: Familiarize yourself with the evacuation routes in your area. If local authorities issue an evacuation order, follow it promptly. Ensure your family knows the plan and where to meet if separated.

Communication: Keep your cell phones charged and have a portable charger on hand. Establish a family communication plan and share it with loved ones outside the storm's path.

Stay Informed: Monitor weather updates from trusted sources like the National Weather Service and local news outlets. Sign up for emergency alerts if available in your area.

During the Storm:

Stay Indoors: Once the storm arrives, stay inside. High winds and flying debris can be extremely dangerous.

Avoid Flooded Areas: Do not attempt to drive through flooded streets. Turn around and find an alternate route or wait for floodwaters to recede.

Power Outages: Be prepared for power outages that could last for an extended period. Use flashlights instead of candles to reduce fire risk.

After the Storm:

Assess Damage Safely: After the storm has passed, inspect your property for damage but do so carefully. Beware of downed power lines and potentially unstable structures.

Check on Neighbors: Look out for your neighbors, especially those who may need assistance, such as the elderly or disabled.

Stay Informed: Continue to monitor updates from local authorities for information on when it's safe to venture out and if any additional precautions are necessary.

Stay safe everyone!!!
